Reading Festival is one of the old festivals celebrated in the UK. It is a musical festival and it was started in 1960. This festival really became very popular among the people because the only big festivals during that time were National Jazz and Blues Festival. Although it was considered to be a big event until 1976, after that Rock music started to die out. In order to change the image of the event, Fiddler took charge of the festival in the year 1989. With the changing trends, more popular bands were brought into the event like The Wonderstuff and New Order. Throughout the history of festival, changes for the better have been introduced to keep the interest of the spectators. The real change was brought in 1990s, when Grunge bands like Nirvana were seen in the event. In 1999, the Reading Festival was introduced to Leeds. In fact, from 2000 onwards, this event gained a lot of commercial popularity and an earlier booking system of Reading Festival Tickets was introduced. It is expected that the Reading Festival 2009 will also bring a lot of excitement with a good range of bands.
